Zoo

I know, it was bound to happen. A spring trip to the zoo... but this time we changed it up a bit. Usually we start with the monkeys, then go see the big animals (elephants, giraffes, etc.) and by the time we get to the birds we are pooped and go home. So this time, we took the train to the "top" of the zoo map and started with the petting zoo and playhouse, did the carousel and saw the the insects, reptiles and penguins. Then we were pooped and went home. Like anyone cares... but it was almost like going to a new zoo! Highly recommend.
Funny thing, though... we got on the train and anticipated a really long ride, so we broke out the lunches. 2 minutes later, we reached a stop and assured the kids this was our first stop of a long ride. The operators looked at us strangely - then finally asked us if there was a problem. We were at the end, and before even 2 sandwich bites. Ha. Jackson was so mad. He kept asking about the rest of the train ride the whole day at the zoo.
Here is an update on Madeline's hair situation: after almost a year of growing out hair from a certain hair-cutting incident, she can almost pull off ONE PONYTAIL!! Allison, count yourself lucky that no pieces were left shorter than 1/4 inch (Shari, you with me here???)
